Accessories to DIY for

We’re all hankering after summer, which is why we’re in the business of hot-weather hairspiration. Spare a thought this month for a new way to up your ‘do. It’s all about hair decor, and now help is at hand to combat those style-wrecking sweaty necked afternoons. These tips – with cues taken from the catwalks and celebs of course – will have you dreaming of rosé-all-day. Head into the salon to kit yourself out with some lustworthy Kevin.Murphy styling kits and with a few accessories, you’re going to be summer ready. Yes, these are mostly for long hair, but if you’re up with the crop you’re already so fashionable darlings you don’t need our help.

1.Our faves start with Gigi Hadid and Dolce and Gabbana with a golden, sparkly ring o’roses crown mere mortals won’t be spending on, but you will find similar looking flower creations over at the more wallet-friendly ASOS, which we’re totally loving for deco ideas. Emulate with a finger raked loose up-do that you can keep as messy looking as you please because your crown is the focus.

2. Up your bun game with this neat and sweet Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel bun attachment. First, smoothing creme helps guard against frizz and then the middle parting keeps it sleek for the contrast braid thingy perched on the back. Or go full out thanks again to ASOS’s flower ears that work well in lighter hair shades, because you will look bonkers, so keep hair down and texturised.

3. Inspired by Bardot and the classic black headband, take your floaty one step further and add some embellished fishnet lace.

4. Or go for the Kylie and add metallic DIY hair braid – just set with some Kevin.Murphy spray for brilliant hold. We love.

For a voluminous pony, ready for side brooches, scrunchies (yes, we’re sorry but they are back), or ASOS’s rose gold beaded bun clip. Remember nearly anything goes, but heavy plant, anything living, actual tinsel? Best avoided, yeah.

If you’re stuck for accessories inspo, take a swing over to the gorgeous V&A museum website, whose design your own wig game had us avoiding work for hours. We think you’ll agree our L&W wig is fine and not at all de trop.

Now whilst we’re not suggesting you should pop out to see if Primarni are stocking any 18th Century versions yet, for you and I, it means if there’s an accessory to wear in your hair this year, then darlings, embrace it. Go get clipping.

‘Til next time, stay gorgeous HPP, love L&Wx
